Gothenburg Health announces the hiring of a new pharmacist. Johnna Richter will graduate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center on May 7. Once she is licensed, she take over as a full-time pharmacist. This is a success story for recruitment in rural areas. Rick Zarek, Pharmacy Director at Gothenburg Health, was patient in the recruiting process, and it paid off. Gothenburg Health is no longer offering a satellite clinic in Brady, NE after January 25, 2022. Gothenburg Health has been privileged to serve the village of Brady through a bi-weekly outreach clinic that began in early 2017. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide healthcare staffing shortages, we have made the difficult decision to end this service as we don’t have the resources to staff it any longer. Carolyn Evenson, RN, BSN was recognized by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) as one of the 76 Nebraska member hospital employees receiving the organization’s prestigious “The Caring Kind” award for excellence in service.
