Here are some tips and information from Dr. Anna Dalrymple about UV awareness and protection. Skin is our largest organ and skin cancer, while largely preventable, is the most diagnosed form of cancer in the US. Dr. Dalrymple recommends applying sunscreen if you plan to be outside longer than 20-30 minutes. Gothenburg Health Provider, Aaron Salomon, shares helpful reminders during Men's Health Week. June 11-17, the week leading up to Father's Day, is National Men's Health Week. The purpose of this week is to raise awareness of preventable health issues among men and boys and to encourage early detection and treatment of disease. The following is an update from Medicare.gov (the official U.S. Government Site for Medicare) Beginning in April 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will start mailing new Medicare cards to all people with Medicare. The roll-out will occur over a several month period based upon the geographic location of the Medicare beneficiary. Grant Deadline Extended to finish YMCA Fundraising Since 2015, the Gothenburg Health Foundation has been engaged in a major capital campaign to raise $4.95 million required to build the Gothenburg YMCA. The last three years have been marked with numerous milestones as we move progressively closer to the large goal. One particularly significant milestone occurred in November of 2016, when the Sherwood Foundation announced a 2:1 challenge grant in the amount of $895,000.
