Passport to Adventure: Gothenburg Health Foundation’s 2026 Gala
The Gothenburg Health Foundation’s annual Gala returns Saturday, Feb. 28, inviting the community to support local cancer care while enjoying an evening of international food, live music and interactive entertainment.
Held at the Dayspring Bank Event Center inside the Impact Center, the 2026 Gala carries the theme “Passport to Adventure. This year’s event will raise funds to enhance chemotherapy services at Gothenburg Health, with a focus on patient comfort and care close to home.
Guests will “travel” from station to station throughout the evening, sampling an internationally inspired dining experience. Interactive food stations will be open at designated times to serve appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Mr. Taco Loco will serve Mexican cuisine. Around the Block Catering will feature a Swedish menu. The Frontier Frau will serve German delights, while the Meridian Taphouse will offer American-style comfort food.
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with appetizer stations open from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The first opportunity to win a prize will take place at 5:30 p.m.
During breaks between food courses, guests can mingle, enjoy signature drinks at the bar hosted by Fresh Seasons Market, have their portrait drawn by a caricature artist and bid on silent auction items. Limited-edition event pilsner glass, etched by Gothenburg High School students, will be available for purchase and include 2 beer tickets.
The entrée stations will open from 6:15-7:00 p.m. Following dinner, Gothenburg Health’s oncology staff will lead a game of heads or tail for a chance to win and will share a short video highlighting their care for chemo patients. Funds raised this year will enhance oncology treatment spaces and add chemotherapy comfort chairs, ensuring patients with cancer receive exceptional care in their own community.
Dessert will be served from 7:45-8:15, just as the evening’s live entertainment begins. The Rascal Martinez Band, sponsored by The Home Agency, will perform a mix of an indie-Rock and Americana, featuring original music and danceable cover songs.

New this year, the Foundation is offering Club-Style: Band & Bar tickets for people who want to enjoy the Rascal Martinez performance and the late-evening atmosphere only. These tickets allow entry starting at 8 p.m. and will be available starting Feb. 15 on the Foundation’s ticket siteor at the door for $20.
