3rd dose of COVID vaccination for moderately to severely immunocompromised people:  The CDC is recommending that people with moderately to severely compromised systems receive an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after a second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

The CDC is defining moderately to severely immunocompromised people who have:

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood.
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system.
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system.
  • Moderate to severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome).
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection.
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune system.

Please call the Gothenburg Health clinic to schedule your appointment if you meet these recommendations: 308-537-4066

Health and Human Services has announced a plan to begin offering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to the general population this fall, but those guidelines are still evolving.  Please look to GH for those recommendations once they become available.
