Gothenburg Health Board of Directors Names Andrew Knust as New CEO

The Gothenburg Health Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Knust as its new Chief Executive Officer. Knust, who has served the organization since 2017, brings valuable experience in healthcare leadership and a strong commitment to advancing rural health services.

Knust’s appointment marks a significant milestone for the organization. Under his leadership, Gothenburg Health aims to continue growing, enhancing patient care, and building on the culture of excellence fostered by its staff.

“Over the past eight years, Gothenburg has truly become home for my family and me.  The meaningful relationships that have developed in my time here make the opportunity to serve the excellent staff of Gothenburg Health as well as the community a tremendous honor,” Knust said. He and his wife, Alicia, live in the countryside near Gothenburg with their three children. 

Knust began his career at Gothenburg Health in 2017 as Director of Finance and Central Supply. In 2022, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer, a role he held until his recent appointment as CEO. During his time as CFO, he demonstrated strategic vision and operational excellence. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the hospital’s financial health and expanding its services.

“The Board of Directors is delighted to welcome Andrew Knust as our new CEO,” the board said in a statement to staff. “Andrew’s dedication to rural healthcare, combined with his proven leadership and alignment with our mission and values, makes him the ideal choice to lead Gothenburg Health into the future.”

During this time of transition, the board recognized the staff’s commitment to patients, families and community that remained unwavering. Knust added, “Our staff are a true reflection of the strength and heart of our hospital.”
