Position Summary
Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Director (HRD) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the hospital, specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, succession planning, training and development, and total reward.
The HRD provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the CEO and executive leadership team as needed. This position is directly responsible for leading the Human Resources department, and indirectly responsible for all employees within the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Establish and implement HR initiatives that effectively convey and support the hospital’s mission and strategic vision.
- Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
- Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior leadership of each business unit regarding related key organizational, personnel, and management issues.
- Work with the hospital’s executive leadership team to establish a comprehensive plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the organization.
- Develop and administer strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of the organization’s goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
- A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 10 years of HR-relevant experience, with at least five years of related management of HR experience
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment
- Temperature controlled office environment.
